How to Delete Your Data

Porchlight Sobriety Tracker respects your privacy and gives you full control over your personal data. Follow the instructions below to delete your account and all associated data.

Option 1: Delete Data Within the App

  1. Open the Porchlight Sobriety Tracker app

  2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon in the tab bar)

  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Account & Data

  4. Select Delete My Account

  5. Review the confirmation message (this action cannot be undone)

  6. Tap Confirm to permanently delete your account and all associated data

Option 2: Request Data Deletion via Email

If you prefer to request data deletion without using the app, email us directly:

Email: branhcutt@gmail.com Subject Line: "Data Deletion Request - Porchlight Sobriety Tracker"

In your email, please include:

  • Your full name

  • The email address associated with your Porchlight account

  • A statement that you request complete deletion of your account and all personal data

We will process your request within 30 days and send you a confirmation email once your data has been permanently deleted.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following information is permanently removed from our servers:

  • Your account profile (name, email, phone number)

  • All journal entries and personal notes

  • Weekly check-in responses and mood tracking history

  • Course progress and lesson completion records

  • Workbook entries and exercises

  • Biometric settings and PIN (stored locally on your device)

  • Location safety alert preferences

  • Any other personal data associated with your account

Note: Biometric lock settings and PIN are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. Deleting your account does not affect these local device settings; you can remove them manually in Settings > Privacy & Security.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active

  • Deleted accounts: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request

  • Backup copies: We may retain backup copies for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes, after which they are permanently destroyed

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and others), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete your data

  • Opt out of data processing

  • Data portability
